Then we started NEW TAILOR in 1997, we already felt that clothing should start with the customer and his conscious choice. Only then will you wear clothes that really fit, both literally and figuratively. Too much clothing is produced that is worn too short or not at all. With made-to-measure clothing you can show even better what you like and enjoy, it fits better (obviously) and it lasts longer. You have the opportunity to determine all the details and choose the color and design that really suits you and your wardrobe. NEW TAILOR is the curator of quality and ensures the best materials, fit and style. In this, we are the architect of your clothing and the stylist for you. That way it will also last longer.

Made In Amsterdam

Unique in the Netherlands is the fact that we also have that in our own workshops in Amsterdam and Utrecht where we still make suits and jackets and put the finishing touches on your clothing. We also offer the service to keep your clothes in top condition.  

Bespoke clothing creates a smaller footprint because the clothes are all used and last longer. In addition, we try to minimize the number of movements from raw material to garment. For example, we like to work with vertical mills where from spinning to finishing everything happens under one roof.

You have the opportunity to co-determine all the details and choose the colour and design that really suits you and your wardrobe. We have a wide range of ecological fabrics from organic cotton, traceable wool and undyed linen. Every six months we ask all our fabric suppliers for a report on their environmental policy and, for example, the use of water, renewable energy and natural dyes. And that gets results. Some of our fabric suppliers are vertically organized and have closed water systems including Barberis and Moon. 

Dugdale Ecology & Loro Piana Negra provide us with fabrics made of undyed wool with therefore only natural shades; from beige to brown. Brisbane Moss has undyed linen and katooen for your pants and suits.

NEW TAILOR - Est. 1997

Our house line is made entirely according to artisanal principles in the best ateliers of Europe and India. For our shirts, jackets and suits, we always design a unique cut to suit the times. The construction of the jackets also at NEW TAILOR Est. 1997 has a loose interior for more flexibility. Clothing therefore only becomes more beautiful and fine with time. Full Canvas is what the English call it. Besides our icons like the peacoat, the jacquet, the tuxedo and the various types of smart casual and business suits, we also offer chinos, knitwear and jeans in this line. Made-to-measure, of course.

NEW TAILOR - Carrara

Jackets, trousers, vests, overcoats and suits are handmade in Italy at Sergio, Angela & Paul's refined atelier Sartoria Carrara. You can see the Italian sophistication and suppleness even when the garment is hanging on the hanger. When you put it on, you feel in every fibre that it was made with love and attention. The construction and the haberdashery used on the jackets are so light that you hardly feel the jacket. One of the first customers we had the opportunity to measure a suit on at NEW TAILOR said at the time, "it feels like pyjamas. Above all, it looks super sleek, beautiful and stylish.

NEW TAILOR - Amsterdam

As one of the few tailors in the Benelux, we still make jackets and suits in-house. For our Lounge Jacket & Urban Jacket we use only the fabric, a unique pattern and the craft skills of our tailors. The result is a comfortable, sporty and durable jacket that wears like a vest and looks like a jacket. The whole process of picking, cutting, fitting and making NEW TAILOR Amsterdam Easy Wear jackets is a unique experience that adds value for that reason alone. Moreover, when picking the materials, we ensure they come from the Netherlands as much as possible.

We are the tailor shop in Amsterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. At NEW TAILOR you have come to the right place for bespoke tailoring, for both your business clothes and your (smart) casual outfit.
